We're just a few weeks away from the Mitsubishi XForce's Philippine premiere. However, there is one model that the company has already revealed. Mind you, there was no fanfare about it, but it's an important one nonetheless.
If you recall a few weeks ago, the facelifted Mitsubishi Montero Sport was spotted along STAR Tollway while on a car carrier. After that, we managed to obtain pricing for the new SUV. Now, it has been officially revealed online.

That said, there are several dealerships that have it on display already, but this is the first time any official photos and specs came from the company itself. Now, we can confirm the full variant list, specs, and prices.
From our last report, we mentioned a few revisions for the higher trim levels. The GT models are now the Black Series, available in both 2WD and 4WD guises. The GLX MT 2WD and GLS AT 2WD are retained. The GLS gets a boost in safety, gaining side airbags for this model update. All models wear the same wheel design with the top variants getting it in black.
The top two trims, the Black Series 2WD and Black Series 4WD, come with advanced driver assist systems. It includes autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and a surround view monitor, to name a few. While we're on the subject of Black Series variants, both benefit from a new digital instrument cluster as well as heat guard seats. To identify a 2WD from a 4WD, only the latter comes with headlight washers and a sunroof.
As for updates that cover most of the lineup, it includes a new grille, slightly reshaped bumpers, and a three-spoke steering wheel. The GLS and both Black Series models also come with an illuminated grille.
Mechanically, the Montero Sport for the 2025 model year is carried over. It sticks with the familiar 2.4-liter 4N15 MIVEC diesel engine. Output is unchanged at 179hp and 430Nm of torque. The GLX 2WD comes with a six-speed manual, while the rest keep the eight-speed automatic transmission.
