The Bureau of Fire Protection’s (BFP) fire truck fleet is getting reinforcements.
Last October 15, Isuzu Philippines (IPC) turned over 84 brand-new fire trucks to the BFP to beef up its emergency response capabilities as part of its modernization plans. This is on top of 74 firefighting and rescue vehicles received by the agency from the Japanese car manufacturer back in February 2020.
In total, the BFP received 76 FVR 1,000-gallon fire trucks, 3 FVR rescue vehicles, and 5 CYZ52 2,500-gallon fire trucks with aerial ladders.
“IPC continues in its mission to contribute to society and be the Filipino people’s responsible partner by providing the most durable, reliable trucks,” IPC president Hajime Koso said during the turnover ceremony at the Lapu-Lapu Grandstand in Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo, Quezon City.
“With the Bureau of Fire Protection modernizing its equipment and vehicles, IPC and the Isuzu brand can help the BFP attain its objectives to protect and serve the country in the best way possible against fire and other calamities.”
It might be raining regularly now, but there’s no doubt the BFP will be able to put its new fire trucks to good use once the summer season arrives. Hopefully, though, you’ll never have to see one of these in action in your neighborhood.
